Updated 4:58pm on 24 November 2024
Heavy rain is currently falling in the Willow Brook catchment and will continue throughout today, Sunday 24th November. This is causing Willow Brook to rise and is forecast to continue to rise through the evening. Low lying areas near to the brook are already flooded and we now expect properties to be affected this evening. Low lying properties near the brook on Chapel Lane are expected to be affected first. Further rain is forecast for today, and therefore river levels will remain high overnight. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated online and on FloodLine by Monday, 25th November, or before if the situation changes.
